Chapter 15

“You almost blew a major deal today. That kind of mistake can never happen again,” Chris said to Chastity as they sat in his car.

She and Rudy had made it back safely. Now they were waiting to see how much they were going to get paid. He passed an envelope to Chastity while he placed the keys in the stash spot of the car.

“That’s 10 grand in there. Both of y’all get five a piece. Can you make another trip in two weeks?”

“Yeah, we sure can, and don’t worry. I won’t make that mistake again. I know time is money,” Chastity said, as she and Rudy got out of the car.

“Yo, I almost forgot to give you this,” Chris said, passing her another envelope. “It’s another $5,000 for the stuff you had to leave in Miami. That should cover everything.”

“Thank you, Chris. See you later.”

They went into the house and split up the money between them. They both had $7,500 apiece. Chastity called the realtor that Chris told her about and set up an appointment so she could see the apartments. After she hung up, she laid on the couch and napped.

Rudy hung up her phone from talking to some dude she knew. She looked at Chastity on the couch.

“I’ll be back, I’m about to go over Budda’s house for a few minutes. Do you want to come?”

“No, I’m good, but when you come back, I want to talk to you about something. I’ll have all the answers by the time you get back.”

“Okay,” Rudy said, heading out the door.

Instead of resting, Chastity decided to make the calls that would hopefully change her life. She dialed the first number from Keem’s phone, and the person answered on the second ring.

“Damn, nigga, you finally made it home. It’s been real fucked up around here lately.”

“This is not Hakeem, my name is Chastity.”

“Who the fuck is you, and why do you have my boy’s phone?” the man said.

“I was his girl until he got locked up. I’m taking over his business and I wanted to know if you would be interested in going though me? I have access to the same connect that he was dealing with. Do you want to get the work from me?” Chastity asked.

The dude wanted to cop the shit he was getting from Keem, because what he had now was garbage. He decided to text her and then see if she knew what she was doing. He used to get fifty bundles from him for $1,400.

“So you’re gonna sell me the 50 bundles for $1,000 a pop, just like he did?”

“Yes, and you will only deal with me, right?”

The man smiled, because he knew that he was about to get over on her. “You got a deal, ma. When can I get the first pack, because I have a client that’s ready to bail on me if I don’t get that good shit?” he said.

“I will call you back within a couple of hours and let you know what time we can meet.
